Chichester Catherdral 900th Anniversary Flower Festival

28th to 31st May 2008

A special floating flower display at the canal basin marking this important festival.

These Friday evening trips depart from the canal basin at 6.30 pm and return at 8.00 pm.  They include a talk on the history and wildlife of the canal, with a glass of wine and savouries for refreshments.

Guided Walk: Poyntz Bridge and Short Industrial Walk of Southgate, Chichester

28th June, 1.00pm to 4.00pm

An opportunity to cross the Chichester Ship Canal on the unique 1820 cast iron Poyntz swing bridge, just south of the Chichester Canal basin. FREE!

The walk starts at 14.30.  Your guide is Alan Green, author of The History of the Chichester's Canal. Highlights include the gasworks, electricity generating station, icehouse, timberyards and lime kiln.

Mikron Theatre Company Present: "Fair Trade"

Jazz at the Canal

29th and 30th August 2008

Following on from last year's first Jazz in the City Festival, Chichester Jazz Club will be holding various jazz events on the trip boats and at the canal basin.
